The salon

A salon that feels like family.

May Art is a women-owned, Latino-owned salon on State Road 7 in Tamarac, run by Mayerling — May to everyone — a nail artist with 21 years behind the table. Her team does nails, spa pedicures and Dominican-style hair under one roof, in English and Spanish.

The details are the point: a coffee (or a tea with crackers) the moment you sit down, water at the temperature you like, and nails shaped for your hands — not a template. Clients say the same thing in review after review: they came for the nails and stayed for the people.

FAQ

Good to know before you sit down.

Booking, refills, which set to choose, parking. Anything else — WhatsApp us.

Ask on WhatsApp
01Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are recommended — the salon fills up, especially Fridays and Saturdays. Book on Booksy and you get a confirmation and reminders by text. Walk-ins are welcome whenever there’s a free chair.

02How do I book?

Tap “Book on Booksy”, choose your service, pick your technician and a time. Changes are allowed up to 1 hour before your visit; late cancellations and no-shows may be charged a fee under Booksy’s cancellation policy.

03When should I refill my acrylics?

Every 2–3 weeks keeps the set strong and the regrowth invisible. Refills are priced by time since your last visit: 2 weeks $60, 3 weeks $70, 4 weeks or more $75.

04Gel, acrylic, polygel or rubber base?

Gel manicure ($40) is color on your natural nail. Rubber base ($55) adds strength to natural nails that peel or bend. Acrylic ($65) and polygel ($70) are sculpted extensions: acrylic is the classic hard set, polygel is lighter and more flexible. Ask May at the table — she’ll look at your nails first.

05Do you do hair?

Yes. Dominican-style blow dry, haircuts, roots and full color, highlights, ombré and balayage, keratin treatments and tape-in, micro-ring or micro-weft extensions — with Naye.

06Do you wax men?

Yes — just say so when you book. Men’s hair type is different and the price may vary.

07How can I pay?

Cash, credit and debit cards, and tap to pay (Apple Pay / Google Pay).

08Where do I park?

Free parking right in front, in the Commercial Plaza on State Road 7 (US 441) at 5361. The entrance, seating and restroom are wheelchair accessible.
